Research interests:

  • Event detection from temporal news streams/Information retrieval - engaged in the development of temporal probability/vector space models for topical text streams.
  • Very large-scaled data mining - interested in novel clustering solutions alleviating the "curse of dimensionality".
  • Web search interaction - understand the user search behaviors using machine learning techniques.

 

Research work has been published in the prestigious conferences including SIGIR, SIGKDD, ICDE, SDM, WWW, ER, ICDM etc.

 

I shall recently join the ChemXSeer project at the School of Information Sciences and Technology, Pennsylvania State University, USA as a post-doctoral researcher, under the supervision of Dr Lee Giles (PhD Michigan, David Reese Professor, ACM/IEEE/INNS Fellow, 2 Sciences, 2 National Academy of Sciences, 1 Nature and I CACM) and Dr Prasenjit Mitra (PhD Stanford, 1 Science and 1 CACM).
