Ee-Peng Lim
received Ph.D. from the University
of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1994 and B.Sc. in Computer
Science from National University of Singapore. Since 1994, he has been lecturing at the Nanyang Technological University. He was a visiting professor at the Chinese University
of Hong Kong during 2002. At present, he is the Head of Division of
Information Systems in the School
of Computer Engineering of the Nanyang Technological University.
Dr Lim’s research
interests include information integration, data/text/web mining, digital
libraries, and wireless intelligence.
His papers appeared at ACM Transactions on Information Systems
(TOIS), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), Data
and Knowledge Engineering (DKE), and other major journals. He is currently
an Associate Editor of the ACM
Transactions on Information Systems (TOIS), Journal of Web Engineering
(JWE), International Journal of Digital Libraries (IJDL) and International
Journal of Data Warehousing and Mining (IJDWM). He is a member of the ACM
Publications Board. He is the
Steering Committee Chair of the International Conference on Asian Digital
Libraries (ICADL), and a member of the Steering Committee of the Pacific
Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD).
Dr Lim is active in
conference organization. He was the
Conference Co-Chair of the 10th Pacific Asia Conference on
Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD2006, Singapore), Area Chair of
the Asian Information Retrieval Symposium (AIRS2006, Singapore), Program
Vice-Chair of the SIAM Data Mining Conference (SDM2005, Newport Beach,
California), Program Co-Chair
of the ACM/IEEE
Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL 2004, Tucson, USA), and Conference/Program Co-Chairs of International
Conference on Asian Digital Libraries (ICADL 2004, Shanghai, China).
He was the Tutorial Co-Chair of the 22th International
Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER'2003), Program Co-Chair of the 3rd,
4th and 5th ACM Workshops on Web Information and Data Management (WIDM
2001, 2002 and 2003), Program Co-Chair of the 5th International Conference
on Asian Digital Libraries (ICADL 2002), Workshop Co-Chair of the
International Workshop on Data Mining for Actionable Knowledge (DMAK2003),
and Publicity Chair of the 12th International Workshop on Research Issues
on Data Engineering: Engineering E-Commerce/E-Business Systems (RIDE-2EC'2002).
He has also served in the program committee of numerous international
conferences and also given talks at conferences, and research seminars.
Dr Lim is a Senior Member
of IEEE and a Member of ACM.
