CRITERIA FOR M.ENGG DEGREE

If you wish to be supervised by me for a master’s degree (2 years) then the following criteria must be satisfied before you can submit your dissertation.

• You have at least one conference publication in premium (Rank A+) database & data mining conferences (VLDB, SIGMOD, ICDE, SIGKDD, ICDM) or bioinformatics conferences (ISMB) OR
• You have at least two publications in Rank A conferences (ER, CIKM, EDBT, ICDM, SDM, PSB, ECCB) AND
• You must have at least one Rank A+/A journal paper submitted for publications prior to thesis submission.
• Note that survey/workshop papers are not counted in the above criteria.

CRITERIA FOR PH.D. DEGREE

Earning a Ph.D. degree involves a lot of hard work and creativity. One of the key measure of your progress during doctoral program is publications. Your future employability as faculty member of an University or a member of technical staff in a Research Lab largely depends on the area of research and quality of publications. Hence, if you wish to be supervised by me then the following criteria must be satisfied before you can submit your dissertation.

• You have at least ONE conference publication in premium (Rank A+) database/data mining/computational biology conferences (VLDB, SIGMOD, ICDE, SIGKDD, WWW, ISMB, RECOMB) AND
• You have at least FOUR paper in Rank A conferences (ER, CIKM, EDBT, ICDM, SDM, PSB, ECCB) AND
• You must have at least one Rank A+ journal paper (TKDE, ACM TKDD, ACM TOIT, ACM TOIS, IS, TODS, Bioinformatics) accepted prior to thesis submission.
• Note that survey/workshop papers are not counted in the above criteria.
